Launched in 2014 and created by master perfumer Paolo Terenzi, Chimaera takes its cue from the fire-breathing creature of myth. The unisex extrait is built on contrast: an opening of black pepper, lemon, saffron, thyme, bay leaf, tolu balsam, leather and earthy notes feels bright and smouldering at once. The heart turns floral and spicy with iris, peony, magnolia, clove, sage, pink pepper and honey, adding powdery softness and a velvety sweetness. The base is deep and resinous — agarwood, tobacco, leather, patchouli, cashmere wood, labdanum, benzoin, Canada balsam, pine bark and a touch of caramel.
